Islam the monotheistic religion articulated by the Qur’an, a text considered by its adherents to be the verbatim word of God and by the teachings and normative example of Muhammad, considered by them to be the last prophet of God.
Muhammad was a merchant and a sheperd and was first married by the age of 25. Discontented with life in Mecca, he retreated to a cave in the surrounding mountains for meditation and reflection. According to Islamic beliefs it was here, at age 40, in the month of Ramadan, where he received his first revelation from God. Three years after this event Muhammad started preaching these revelations publicly, proclaiming that "God is One", that complete "surrender" to him is the only way acceptable to God, and that he himself was a prophet and messenger of God.
Personal Opinion
* They said Muhammad was a an open minded person that wanted that all persons get together and unify, buy the religion that he was prophet of is the most conservative and represive in the world, it causes wars and a lot of deaths so this is very contradictory.
